about
the app where you meet your future self.
Ciel is a small iOS app built on one idea: you keep picturing a version of you that is fitter, calmer, further along. A year from now, someone will be living that life. Ciel exists to make sure it's you.
You give it your face and your words. It shows you two portraits of the same year: the you who followed through, and the you who drifted. Every week, your future self is redrawn from what you actually did, not what you meant to do. Every day, you give that person one honest minute. You can even talk to them, and they answer in your voice.
Ciel runs on future-self continuity, Hal Hershfield's research at UCLA: people who vividly see their future self as them make better long-term decisions. Ciel puts that finding in your pocket. Read the research behind Ciel.
Your selfie stays private. It is used for one thing, drawing your portraits. Never shown publicly, never sold, never used to train AI models.
- no streaks, no shame. missing a day breaks nothing.
- redrawn from what you did, not what you meant to do.
- built on published UCLA research.
